Dylan and John bring nearly 20 years of combined in-house legal expertise, having worked together at two Boston-area software companies. John led the legal departments at NetBrain, where he first teamed up with Dylan, and later at Labster, where they managed legal, security, and IT functions together.

Recognizing their shared vision, Dylan and John founded Embedded Counsel, a firm specializing in corporate, business, commercial, intellectual property, and privacy law. Embedded Counsel seamlessly integrates with your team, serving as either your “outside” General Counsel’s office or as an extension of your existing legal department. Their extensive experience with small to mid-sized businesses allows them to better understand and meet your needs compared to traditional law firms.

Our approach is designed to be more valuable than typical outside legal services, with a business model inspired by top-tier corporate legal departments. While we offer traditional hourly services, our primary focus is on project-based flat fees and subscription plans, providing clients with transparent, predictable pricing that aligns with their business goals.
